Survey and suggestions on pollution treatment and financing for SMEs

Abstract：
The percentage of industrial pollution by small and medium-sized enterprises in China is rapidly shooting up and it has become a focus and a difficult issue for industrial pollution treatment in China. The following two methods are considered both practical and beneficial for improving pollution treatment for SMEs. First, in those industrial parks with robust economic activities and overall planning, the government could give support to the professional pollution treatment companies and let them deal with pollution by SMEs. Second, towards those high pollution resource industries, the government could help the medium-sized enterprises to develop industries with comprehensive and recycling utilization of resources and through that the surrounding small enterprises will gradually get involved in pollution treatment. The fund and supportive policy given to these two modes will solve a good number of issues such as the improper pollution treatment by some SMEs, the shortage of funds for pollution treatment, the lack of credit rating and the hard supervision for environment. Therefore, it is suggested that relevant departments formulate related policies to support pollution treatment.
