A new route from Anqing to Hangzhou will be 52 kilometers shorter than the former one.
On March 9, the first Freeway Network Recommendation Press Conference was held in Anhui province. The old 461-kilometer route to Hangzhou from Anqing passes through Chizhou, Tongling, Wuhu, Xuancheng and Huzhou. The new route recommended at the conference shortens the distance to 409 kilometers, and is in better condition.
The route passes the central area of South Anhui International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Area, in which are located some famous tourist attractions such as the Qiyun Mountain, Huangshang Mountain and Shexian county.
