Huangshan has been named the sixth most ecologically competitive city in China, according to the China City Competitiveness Report. Huangshan is also the only city in Anhui listed on the report.
In recent years, Huangshan has issued a series of policies on building an ecological city. Currently, the forest resource of Huangshan accounts for more than 20 percent of the whole province. The income of the forestry sector reached 3,267 yuan ($533) per capita last year, comprising 35.66 percent of net income per capita.
