FAW Group's Hongqi Fanrong (literally "prosperity") plant has been officially opened in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, with a ceremony held on June 29, according to local media reports.

The first Hongqi E-QM5 car model was delivered during the launch ceremony.

The new Hongqi plant has a designed annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.

According to Jilin officials, since last year, and in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak and climate-related disasters, FAW Group has completed the leap from virtual factory design to the completion of the actual factory in just 14.5 months.

The province will continue to back the development of FAW Group, further improving the efficiency of its policy implementation, project support quality, and service guarantee level.
