CHINA-PHARM 2008 Press Conference Launched in Beijing

The 13th China International Pharmaceutical Industry Exhibition (CHINA-PHARM 2008), co-organized by China Center for Pharmaceutical International Exchange and Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd. will be grandly held in China International Exhibition Center Beijing from Nov. 12-14, 2008. On Oct. 14, the organizers launched a press conference in Radisson SAS Hotel Beijing, with 40 guests from trade media, industry associations, renowned companies, and embassies & consulates of such countries as America, Britain, Canada and Australia.
On the press conference, the organizers detailed the progress of preparation and introduced the highlights and new technologies about the upcoming event. Afterwards, International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) and International Pharmaceutical Excipients Council (IPEC), the supporters, introduced the concurrent forums. The representative exhibitors like Rieckermann gave a speech as well.
The exhibition has received huge support from overseas organizations such as ISPE, IPEC, VDMA Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association and PPMA. Famous manufacturers from more than 20 countries and regions including Germany, Italy, UK, USA, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Chinese Taiwan will participate in this exhibition, with exhibits covering pharmaceutical machinery, packaging machinery, testing instruments, packaging materials & pharmaceutical excipient, analytical testing & biological engineering, water treatment & membrane, cleaning equipment & technologies, etc.
As the only large-scale international pharmaceuticalfair after Beijing Olympics,CHINA-PHARM 2008 is expecting nearly 400 exhibitors to showcase their latest products, instruments and technologies, and over 20,000 sqm exhibition area, of which about 1,000m2 is for German Pavilion. The international pharmaceutical excipients zone will also be pretty attractive.
Since its debut in 1996, CHINA-PHARM has received an encouraging response and huge support from all parts of society. With a history of more than a decade, it has developed into one of the most authoritative, representative and impressive exhibition in both domestic and overseas pharmaceutical field. CHINA-PHARM 2008 has strengthened the cooperation among the industry associations. During the event, China Center for Pharmaceutical International Exchange will organize ISPE-CCPIR China Conference 2008 and International Pharmaceutical Excipients Symposium together with ISPE and IPEC respectively. Besides, nearly 10 seminars will also be held.
At that time, the organizers will invite domestic and foreign officers and famous experts for speeches with respect to GMP, drugs validation, GAMP5 and security control. Furthermore, excipients supervision both domestic and abroad, and relevant regulations in America and Europe will also be discussed on the forum.

Booming China Pharmaceutical Industry with Huge Market Potential
Since the implementation of the reform and opening up policy, China pharmaceutical industry has experienced a rapid and sound development. Its gross output value increased from 137.1 billion yuan in 1998 to 667.9 billion yuan in 2007; the pharmaceutical export volume rose from 3.4 billion dollars in 1998 to 24.6 billion dollars, and the import one upsoared from 1.5 billion dollars in 1998 to 14 billion dollars in 2007. Meanwhile, annual per capita medicine consumption in China roared to 332 yuan in 2006 from over 30 yuan in the early days of reform and opening-up.
The global demand for the packaging machinery is rising at the speed of 5.3% per year according to the statistics, and reached 31 billion dollars in 2007. Since the promulgation of the GMP mandatory accreditation system, many production lines have been updated, promising a huge market for the pharmaceutical equipment manufacture companies. In the first quarter of 2008, the export value from Germany to China increased by 19% compared with the same period of last year.
Over 700 pharmaceutical equipment manufacture companies have managed to fabricate effective and energy-saving products, products reaching advanced international standards, products with mechanical-electrical integration, products matching for GMP requirements and export products etc., enjoying bulk drug appliances and 8-category machinery, including enginery, pharmaceutical preparation machinery, pharmaceutical milling machinery, sliced herbal medicine machinery, water treatment equipment for pharmaceutical use, pharmaceutical packaging machinery, medicine testing instrument and other pharmaceutical equipment etc., as well as ample pharmaceutical equipments with over 3000 specifications. At present, annual production value of China pharmaceutical packaging industry is about 15 billion yuan, with annual growth speed over 10%.
The updating of hi-tech products has enhanced the advancement of the pharmaceutical equipment and packaging machinery industry. Meanwhile, the launch of varied monitoring and inspecting appliances has assured the security of the pharmaceutical production.
