Anthony Hopkins is hoping to double his Oscar count playing a cold-blooded killer in the tense psychological courtroom thriller Fracture.

The Wales-born star who earned a gong as the ultra-sinister Hannibal Lecter plays Ted Crawford - a man accused of the murder of his wife in a seemingly open-and-shut case. But needless to say, there is a twist.

Ryan Gosling plays the prosecutor tasked with proving Crawford's guilt and former Bond girl Rosamund Pyke plays Gosling's love interest.

Pyke reveals that the movie kept her guessing until the end.

She said: "It's the sort of film I always wanted to do. It is a real American thriller and all the things that you would expect of it - and more."
