Scores of Pakistani lawmakers could lose their seats from a probe into claims some have lied about their academic qualifications, AP reported Wednesday. The investigation on nearly all of some 1,100 lawmakers was launched by a Supreme Court order after up to 160 parliamentarians were allegedly found to possess fake degrees. If enough lawmakers are found ineligible, there are rumblings that a midterm election may be needed. |
