Disgruntled employee calls for strippers
The Shanghai Job Placement Center Monday blocked a local real estate company's online account after it posted a recruitment ad for female strippers on the center's Website last Saturday. Shanghai Senyangmei Investment Development Co will be banned from recruiting professionals on the governmental headhunting Website (www.12333.gov.cn) for several months. The company claims, however, that the ad was posted by a recently fired employee. Center officials said they will observe the company's further performance to decide when its account can be reopened. The recruitment ad was listed on the front page of the Website's job placement section last Saturday, asking for 10 females aged 16 to 25 to work as strippers. It said candidates should hold a bachelor degree and would be paid at least 8,000 yuan (US$964) per month. "I was stunned to see such a pornographic ad on the government job-hunting Website," said Li Guolin, 51, a local resident. Li immediately complained to the center and the ad was pulled about 30 minutes later. The Website provides a free recruitment platform for local companies and individuals. Companies need to show their business license to acquire a recruitment account. Zhang Dezhi, the center's director, said the ad was posted by the company's former human resources manager who was recently fired but still has the account password. The man made up the sensational ad to earn revenge against his former employer, Zhang said, adding that the center is looking into ways to prevent similar incidents in the future. |
