Field hospital has ability to treat altitude diseases

With only half an hour, the medical workers in a field hospital of a brigade
stationed in Tibet successfully finished their operation on a soldier who was
diagnosed as appendicitis patient with the field operating van. After the
comprehensive treatment of medicines and portable oxygen cylinder, 9
High-Altitude Pulmonary Edema suffering officers and men were healed and left
hospital in 3 days. This was what the reporter saw at a field hospital at an
altitude of 5000 meters in early September.
For many years, the brigade stuck to the principle of "tackle one difficulty
in one year". Every year, the brigade organized the hospital to strange plateau
area to conduct medical guarantee exercise under real war conditions to train
the medical workers. They have explored treatment methods for more than 10
common altitude diseases and tackled more than 20 difficulties such as
appendicitis operation, stomach and intestine acute diseases treatment methods
in high altitude regions and accumulated precious experience for the medical
guarantee in high altitude conditions of future war. At the same time, the
brigade also attached important to new equipment such as field battle operation
van, portable plateau oxygen cylinder and field battle X-ray vehicle. Mastering
of the usage of these new equipment boosted the generation of battle
effectiveness and the upgrading of medical guarantee ability. Presently, most
common altitude diseases can be treated in field hospital.
