NATO: Pirates take 7 Europeans, 3 Filipinos hostage

ON BOARD NRP CORTE-REAL - Pirates have hijacked a Belgian-flagged cargo ship and taken its crew of seven Europeans and three Filipinos hostage in an attack north of the Seychelles, NATO officials said on Tuesday. "After the distress call went out, several ships tried to make contact with the MV Pompei but they had no joy," NATO Lieutenant-Commander Alexandres Fernandes said. |
