Maldives tourism grows in April on Chinese arrivals

Sales revenue in 2013 grew by about 40 percent compared to the same period in 2012.

There are altogether 374 rooms, including 136 double rooms, 136 standard rooms, 64 Hollywood rooms and eight suites. The hotel also has non-smoking guest rooms and special rooms set up for the disabled.

The hotel occupancy rate is around 70 percent, of which foreign visitors account for about 20 percent, mainly from Korea, Japan, American and Europe.

Fan says the Wyndham has more than 420 employees and the company holds a lunch for about 30 staff members each month so the general members can get to know everyone. There are also monthly, quarterly and annual excellence awards to motivate staff.

"Kunming is my favorite city in China. The climate is similar to Adelaide in Australia - neither hot in summer, nor cold in winter. I like the climate, the people and the comfortable environment," Fan says.

Yunnan is one of the provinces in China slated for tourism as its topography offers wonderful natural scenery. It also has a rich history and ethnic color and culture.
