Calling for peace, the 56-year-old Chinese Hu Zhongxu from the Czech Republic has commenced on June 10 an interesting motorcycle journey in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, to exchange World War II materials from China in European countries.

Hu takes with him some WWII files collected from archives and memorials across China and maintained at the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders in Nanjing to bring back reciprocal similar WWII files he will collect from museums and memorials he will visit during the course of his journey.

For the following one and a half months, Hu will travel westward to the Russian city of Volgograd first, to be followed by visits to WWII battlefield sites in Kursk, Moscow, Warsaw, Berlin and Normandy. He will also stop by at the concentration camps in Auschwitz, Mauthausen, Dachau and Buchenwald before returning back to China.

Themed "Riding alone with undeniable evidence, Holding together for world peace", Hu's journey is part of the "Spotlight on WWII Sites, Global Journey for Peace" campaign jointly launched by the International New Media Cooperation Organization, the Chinese International Media Association, the Chinese Humanist Association of Guangdong, and Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation City Channel to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and victory in China's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45).

The organizing committee has cooperated with many WWII museums and memorials in Russia, Germany and France, such as the Museum of the Battle of Stalingrad, the Museum of Nuremberg Trials of the World War II and the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy to make Hu’s expedition and exchange of files possible.
