The same thing is happening or being considered in most countries with a welfare system. People are living longer so require pensions for more years. In China's case, women are probably receiving pension for over 20 years. Although people pay into pension funds this does not cover their future pension. Pensions are financed out of current taxation so it is our children who will actually fund our pensions.
