Here in the United States there are some people that will push their children to get married, but I would say that this is not the basic rule. There are a lot of parents who prefer to stay out of their children's business. My mother didn't force either my brother or myself to be married even though we both are now. We also have a little sister who isn't married yet and my mother is not trying to force her to get married.
