CPC striving to be vanguard of new era with vibrant energy

The 89th birthday of the Communist Party of China (CPC) falls on Thursday, July 1. After having partaken in activities to study and put into practice the Scientific Outlook on Development, more than 3.7 million grassroots Party organizations and some 7.7 million Party members have turned increasingly more vigorous and are seething with enthusiasm for creativity.

Since its birth 89 years ago, the CPC has valiantly and courageously taken the historical mission and led the people of China along the road for a strong nation and a rich people, and altered the destiny of the Chinese nation. The CPC has all along kept to the "magic weapon" of Party Building at every historical juncture, and it has aroused or mobilized forces in the Party, united with them and led the Party in surmounting difficulties and winning victories.

History has given an eloquent proof that the CPC stands rock-firm, and has become increasingly prosperous and thriving despite the storm and stress, and the reasons behind are: the CPC adheres to the guidance of Marxism and Sinifies it; it retains the Party character and carries out its sole purpose of serving people wholeheartedly; the Party deems it its own responsibility to make a strong nation and a rich people and hinges on its improvement to promote its effectiveness, cohesiveness and combat-effectiveness. The ongoing activities to build the advanced CPC grassroots organizations and strive to be fine Communists epitomize the vivid practice to integrate the Party's sole purpose into the present era.

Penetrating, in-depth activities to excel is sure to arouse the political enthusiasm and activities of grassroots Party organizations and CPC members, and to enable them to share concerns with the CPC, take responsibilities for the nation and make contributions to the Chinese people.

Since the CPC is a party in power for 61 years, to retain its vis and vigor is an issue of critical importance to the future and destiny of the Party and the State. With vital changes having occurred in both external and internal conditions for China's development along with the importance and urgency to speed the transfer of economic development, it is a glorious and arduous task to build a well-off society for 1.3 Chinese people with still higher standards, and more strenuous, painstaking efforts should be taken to resolve issues of the utmost concern to people.
