A delegation of the Yunnan Association for the Promotion of Space Biotechnology Development, led by Zhang Baosan, director of the Association, visited the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone on Oct 21. Wang Minzheng, director of the administrative committee of the Zone received the guests.

Wang gave a brief outline regarding the economic and social development in the Zone, especially the newly-signed cooperation projects worth 2.5 billion yuan ($448 million) at the Tenth Pan-PRD Regional Cooperation & Development Forum and Economic & Trade Fair in Guangdong province. He also explained the new measures that the Zone recently launched to better serve the enterprises and improve the investment environment in the Zone.

Wang said to the delegation that the combination of economy and space science and technology has broad prospects for development. The Association can cooperate with the Zone in popularizing space science and technology education, Space mutation breeding, and space-themed tourism, which would greatly contribute to the economic development in Yunnan. Later, the two sides had further discussions on other matters of cooperation.
