High-Tech Industrial Development Zone No.2 High School, Kunming

Founded in 1984 on 2507 Dianmian Avenue, Kunming, High-Tech Industrial Development Zone No.2 High School, Kunming (Gaoxin No.2 High School, Kunming), formerly known as Xishan District No.2 High School and Wuhua District Xinzhi School, was moved to the High-Tech Zone in 2008. Now it is a fully funded Public Sector Undertaking in the High-Tech Zone, responsible for secondary compulsory education.

Currently, the school has 79 faculty members, among which junior and senior teachers account for 68 percent, academic leaders, core teachers and young excellent above district-level take up 21 percent.

In recent years, under the leadership of the administrative committee and strong support from related institutions, the school has achieved fruitful results. By fully implementing a scientific outlook on development, adhering to people-oriented management and striving to create education to suit students’ development, the school has won 27 collective awards above district level, including First-Class Secondary School of Yunnan Province.

In 2012, the High-tech Zone invested great in the transformation of the campus and the school will open in August 2014. The new school covers a floor area of 17,000 square meters and a gross floor area of 25,557 square meters, holding 1,800 students in 36 classes.

Equipped with laboratories and classrooms in accordance with the standards of first-class secondary schools in Yunnan province as well as an indoor gymnasium, science and technology activity rooms, geography rooms and counseling rooms, both the teaching conditions and campus environment have been improved.

The construction of a digital campus integrates teaching, scientific research, management and service, paperless administration, modern teaching methods, networked learning and humane service management. First-class hardware facilities not only provide strong support for the reform and development of the school but also build a wider platform for students’ healthy growth and personal development.
