More than 30 youths from Macao and Shanxi participated in a seminar hosted in Shanxi University on July 30, and exchanged their differences in culture, communication and lifestyle in the gathering. Officials from Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao, Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Shanxi Province, Communist Youth League of Shanxi and departments of Shanxi University were invited to the seminar.

Deputy secretary of the CPC party committee of Shanxi University, Bao Shanbing delivered a speech in the seminar. He sent his greetings to the youths from Macao and gave a brief introduction of the history of Shanxi University. He also said that the seminar showed the progress of the communication, as well as the continuation of the friendship of youths from Macao and Shanxi.

Deputy secretary of Communist Youth League of Shanxi, Ma Wandong, and vice minister of personnel department of Liaison Office in Macao, Zhou Zhaozhong also addressed to the guests and youths. They said that they hope youths from Macao learn more history of mainland of China, share experience and set up cooperation in many ways with youths from Shanxi, and finally gain a greater friendship in this seminar.

In the seminar, youths from the two places made a heated conversation about scenic beauties, vast culture and revolutionary history of Shanxi. Youths from Macao expressed that they truly comprehended the modern development of motherland and really felt proud of being Chinese. Several talent shows including erhu (two-stringed bowed musical instrument), pipa (a plucked string instrument) and wushu (martial arts) were also performed by many youths.
