There was a conference in the city of Datong on Nov 6, to set up a municipal banking association, with Qi Shaobin, the Shanxi province banking regulator’s discipline inspection secretary, joining the gathering.

Qi addressed the meeting and took the opportunity to express his expectations for the banking business in Datong, in improving service quality and establishing a more favorable image among the public by catering to their needs better. The bank offices dealing with inspections and regulations need better guidance, Qi added, to support the association’s development.

The municipal banking bureau played a major role in establishing the association. It is the province’s third banking association, and already has 31 members and a system of operations.
