Shanxi province will promote new technologies and techniques in textiles with the construction of three textile-focused industrial clusters in 2018. It is believed the trio of clusters will generate 5.5 billion yuan ($857.6 million) in revenue.
According to a plan recently released by Shanxi Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the province will advance transformation of automatic and continuous production technology while promoting its clothing, shoemaking, hatting and chemical fiber manufacturing industries with the development of 10 key projects.
Shanxi will also support nine textile companies, helping to bring their sales revenue to 30 percent of the region’s industry total within a year. The province will continue to promote its famous textile brands and encourage local textile companies to innovate in marketing themselves.
