Dayu in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, sealed deals worth 250 million yuan ($37.24 million) at a tourism and agricultural conference held in the town on Sept 30.
The deals, signed with four companies, seek to take advantage of local farming and tourism to attract investment, boost the economy and increase visitors to the area.

The investment will help to establish iconic agriculture and tourist attractions across Dayu, namely an eco-farm for sightseeing, fruit and vegetable plantations, and an animal husbandry ranch.

Meanwhile, the local government will encourage more manufacturers of tools and hardware, food producers, and makers of construction materials to expand their business in the region.
Dayu town in the north of Taiyuan has a developed transportation network connected to the 108 National Highway, Dayun Expressway and the Datong-Taiyuan Railway.
There are also many scenic and historic sites in the area, such as Shiling Pass and Sanzhen Ancient Village. The town's specialties and customs, including wheat-made statues and shehuo, an activity in celebration of Spring Festival, are also highlights of the traditional culture in North China.
