Shanghai’s Shimao quarry hotel, which started construction in 2013, is the world’s first 'underground' 5-star cave hotel which is being built into an abandoned quarry.

It is located in Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort in Songjiang district, at an altitude of minus 80 meters.

As a worldwide architectural wonder，Shimao quarry hotel features an original design concept in the use of underground space, examination and research of geology, and the use and management of the hotel after completion.

The hotel will have one story underwater, 17 inside a cave, and two above ground. And it will be equipped with entertainment projects such as bungee jumping, a natural indoor garden, large landscape waterfalls, and a presidential suite.

With the Shimao quarry hotel as its core, and other tourist attractions such as the Happy Valley, Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, and Shanghai Tianma golf club gathered together, Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort is developing better all the time.
