As we close the books on one year and begin another, I wanted to take a moment to wish you a very Happy New Year and reflect upon the year that has just passed.

At the start of 2015, we are working on applying President Xi Jinping’s suggestions made in his speech in May 2014 regarding foreign experts work into our daily efforts to assure that more skilled and experienced foreigners will contribute to China’s socio-economic development.

Xi’s remarks certainly help us set up guidelines and goals for the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affair’s (SAFEA) work in the future. Moreover, we have the 2014 Friendship Award Celebration, the highest honor given to foreigners by the Chinese government on the eve of the 65th anniversary of PRC.

Last year, we honored 100 foreign experts from all walks of lives for our friends’ great contribution to China’s overall development. Last but not the least; the year of 2014 witnessed the 60th anniversary of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.

We feel proud of our staff who have worked very hard on communicating, helping and managing foreigners over the past six decades. We have achieved our goals set in 2014, so now it’s our turn to think about the future.

We have a shared responsibility to move this country forward as this year is the very beginning of promoting the rule of law.

And, SAFEA spares no efforts to recruit more skilled foreign talent needed. We are willing to work with our colleagues and friends who have got good ideas and the commitment to help us improve our management skills and think of a sound policy about skilled foreigners.

On the occasion of the arrival of the New Year, I, on behalf of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, extend my New Year’s blessings to my colleagues and convey my gratitude to friends from all walks of lives in China and abroad for their caring and support for our work.
