POWERCHINA Hubei Engineering Co (HYPEC), a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, has recently reviewed the work safety standardization of the K Dam project in Sri Lanka and Nam Ngum 3 Hydropower Plant in Laos as part of the moves to boost the Belt and Road Initiative.

HYPEC has attached high importance to the review work, sending in key technical experts, scrutinizing work safety, mentoring and communicating patiently, with the aim of helping the project departments improve safety management. The review team's professional attitude and spirit has received high praise from contractors.

The review is a crucial part of HYPEC's efforts to offer work safety consultation and review services to POWERCHINA International Group Ltd. Since 2017, HYPEC has striven to promote the work safety standardization of overseas projects, launching an assessment standard of safety standardization customized for POWERCHINA's international businesses. Furthermore, the company has also provided training, guidance and consultation.

The work safety standardization of overseas projects has long been a weak area for POWERCHINA's subsidiaries. HYPEC's assessment standard is tailored for the subsidiaries and will help them fulfil work safety responsibilities and enhance the safety management of overseas projects.
