Jiangsu province will hold a cultural festival in Hong Kong from April 20-22, bringing its local performances, intangible cultural heritages, traditional dishes and high-quality products to Victoria Park in Hong Kong.
The Wuxi Taihu National Tourism Resort Zone, located on Mashan Peninsula in the southwest of Wuxi, Jiangsu, is one of the twelve national tourism resort zones approved by the State Council in October, 1992. As a representative tourist attraction in Wuxi, it?will be?promoted at the event in Hong Kong.
Surrounded by water on three sides, the zone is like a pearl floating on Taihu Lake. It covers an area of 36,000 hectares and is the birthplace of not only the Chinese “mind resort” concept, but also the historical Wu civilization.
The Lingshan Scenic Spot, located in the resort zone, is ranked as a 5A-level tourist attraction and receives more than three million visitors every year. The Lingshan Buddhist Temple is a permanent site for the World Buddhist Forum and has exerted far-reaching influence at home and abroad.
Nianhua Bay in Lingshan Town, which receives nearly two million visitors every year, integrates the concept of Zen into everyday life, providing an ideal spot to relax both body and soul. There are twenty-seven resorts in the town, all with distinct features, and the “Sea of Flowers” is not to be missed.
The Museum of Helv Relics, classified as a 4A-level tourist attraction, preserves the history of the several-thousand-year-old Wu civilization and is among the top ten national archaeological discoveries of 2008. It is also one of the major historical and cultural sites to receive state protection.
Wuxi Taihu National Tourism Resort Zone also includes the Taihu International Golf Club, the Dragon Head Islet Park, Guzhu Resort, Heping Resort and many other attractions.
