Overview

Located in Changsha county’s Ansha town, the industrial park is Changsha’s 200-square-kilometer economic zone’s key area, with the logistic center in the park a key part of Hunan province’s “11th Five-year Plan”.

Less than three years after the park opened in June 2003, it had more than 20 enterprises, covering at least 1.3 million square meters. It has spent 56 million yuan ($8.97 million) on infrastructure, with three roads, water supply, drainage, two 110-kv power stations and a 35-kv one and a natural gas station.

Planning

The county’s plan for the economic zone calls for a park area of 4.5 square kilometers in the near term and 21 sq km in the long term, with the focus on environmentally friendly industries and modern storage and logistics.

Advantages The park is just across a narrow river from the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone and near downtown Changsha, and 15 km from the Changsha Railway Station and Xianing New Port, and 18 km from Huanghua International Airport, all reached by highways.

It has the Beijing-Hongkong-Macao Expressway, State Road 107, the Ring Expressway, the Shimen-Changsha Railway crossing it.

Maotang town is not only part of the “Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan integration program”, near the Pearl River Economic Circle and Yangtze River Economic Zone, but also connects the West China with coastal areas - Sichuan and Jiangxi provinces. The expansion of Huangxing Ave and a main street - Huoxing Ave in the works will enforce the park’s advantages in location and transport.

Investment

The park has almost no limit in industrial investment projects, in scale and operations, and encourages the following:

Industries: modern logistics, engineering machinery, modern manufacturing, greening, e-information, new materials, biological engineering, and printing.

Agriculture: deep processing, research, special species, and tea.

Trade: special and wholesale markets.

Tourism: Heping Shanhua Tourist Zone and rural tourism.

Education: Vocational education.
