Ma Haining, deputy chairman of the Jiangsu Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Jiangsu), led a delegation to investigate exhibition infrastructure construction in Huaqiao on Jan 25. Xia Xiaoliang, deputy mayor of Kunshan, and Zhang Zhenyue, deputy director of the management committee of Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, accompanied the delegation.
The delegation visited the main pavilion of Tiantian International Exhibition Center and inspected its construction progress. Tiantian International Exhibition Center is one of the major projects in the Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trade Demonstration Area as well as the biggest pavilion in Huaqiao. It covers an area of 63,000 square meters, including 40,000 square meters of exhibition area. Upon completion, it will have 1,500 exhibition stands and 650 parking spaces.
Huaqiao plans to improve the pavilion into an international multi-use building combining trade, commerce and exhibition. It is now in its final stage of construction, installing piping systems, heating equipment and air conditioners. The pavilion is scheduled to open in June 2013.
