The Alibaba Electronic Commerce Mansion broke ground on October 16 at the newly-constructed Saige Electronic Square at the Huaqiao International Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu’s Kunshan.
The Mansion, covering 80 thousand square meters, is affiliated with offices for online business professionals and integrative services of logistics, life and finance, provided by professional teams sent by Alibaba.
Upon the completion of the Alibaba Electronic Commerce Mansion, which is jointly sponsored by Alibaba China and Saige Electronic Industrial Co Ltd, online business professionals will be able to work in the Kunshan Saige Electronic Market, which will also provide a platform for foreign online businesses to exhibit their substantial products to Chinese customers.
Alibaba China will spare no effort in helping build the Kunshan Saige Electronic Market into a base in east China for Alibaba Electronic products. All-round cooperation will be launched between both sides, including inviting investments, setting up a logistics base in east China, establishing an employment base and providing financing.
Huaqiao International Service Business Park, offering exciting opportunities, will make full use of the geographic, cost and personnel advantages derived from the Shanghai World Expo, the Cross-Straits Economic and Trade Zone and Shanghai’s plan to be an international financial hub, to develop into an influential special zone for the local and international service outsourcing industry.
Kunshan Saige Electronic Market, which deals in new electronic products, is located in the center of the Suzhou electronic information industry base, a showcase of the Yangtze River Delta and the major manufacturing city.

As China's largest online marketplace for domestic trade, Alibaba has integrated B2B, C2C, a search engine and an official website, whose community has gained popularity among 40 million members from more than 240 countries and regions.
Privately held Alibaba, based in Hangzhou in eastern China, was founded in current CEO Ma Yun’s apartment in 1999. For the time being, China-based suppliers pay fees to use the service, which is free to suppliers and buyers outside China.
Forty sales centers have been set up in the Chinese mainland and branch offices have been restored in Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and other cities abroad.
Alibaba International is the company’s English-language website, hosting traders from more than 200 countries. The company's three online marketplaces boast more than 7 million registered users and hosted more than $3 billion in trade last year, Ma said.
