51 cadres from Lingxian County, who attended a management training program, visited Huaqiao International Service Business Park on Tuesday morning, accompanied by Wang Yongjin, deputy headmaster of Kunshan communist party institute.
Tang Naixin, deputy director of the managing committee of Huaqiao economic development zone, gave them a warm welcome and spoke highly of the Lingxian government’s efforts to train the talented officials.
Tang also introduced Huaqiao’s master plan and development strategies to them.
As a young development zone, Huaqiao will concentrate on developing modern services to support the global industry of tomorrow.
With the features of “business services” and “satellite town for metropolis”, Huaqiao has been rapidly transformed from a manufacturing center to a service outsourcing hub, aimed to provide related serviced for Shanghai, where the 2010 World Expo will be held.
Tang also discussed with cadres from Lingxian County a series of questions, including the capital sources for the development and construction, the relevant supporting policies and the integration of urban and rural areas.
Lingxian County, located in North Shandong’s Dezhou city, used to be a big county in China historically, when it was called Pingyuan County. Now part of the ancient city wall of Tang Dynasty still stands in the south of the region.
Before the Three Kingdoms, one of the three emperors Liu Bei used to be the chief of the county, together with his fellows Guan Yu and Zhang Fei.
One can also find the hometown of Dong Fangshuo, the famed thinker of the Emperor Wu from the Han Dynasty.
Also, during the Tang Dynasty, an important figure of Chinese calligraphy administrated this area--Yan Zhenqing.
Today, a memorial hall for the two historic figures is built in the People’s Park of Lingxian, where a lot of materials of Dong Fangshuo and stone inscriptions of Yan Zhenqing are reserved.
