June 11-12, 2008: The symposium on the preliminary design of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project was held in Beijing.

June 20, 2008: The task set in the third construction period of the low water season (May 2007–June 2008) of the heightening project in the Danjiangkou Dam–the headwater of the South-to-North Water Diversion Middle Route Project–was accomplished successfully. The phased goal of this project was achieved on schedule.

Aug 26, 2008: Baoying Pumping Station in the Eastern Route passed acceptance inspection.

Nov 12, 2008: The Jinan Section of the first phase of the Eastern Route Project started.

Dec 30, 2008: The construction land of the Nansi Lake Water Control Project in Shandong province was put into service.
