Suning has installed the nation's most advanced logistics and warehousing center in Guanshanhu district, southwest China's Guizhou province, keeping pace with Guanshanhu's construction as an international metropolis.
Suning aims to build 60 logistics and warehousing centers in China, and already more than 20 have been completed. It chose Guanshanhu as the venue for building its first logistics and warehousing center, largely because of the district's internationalization.
Suning can handle between four to five billion cargoes each year by installing the most advanced logistics and warehousing system to improve space utilization. The storage capacity of the warehouse of just over than 3700 square meters is equivalent to a normal 100, 000 square meters one.

More than 70 staff are working in the center, loading and unloading cargoes from 10-meter high shelves. Nine of the workers are licensed to drive high-level forklift trucks. By using them, Suning has cut its human resources requirements by half.
"We were unable to find a single licensed high-level forklift driver in Guizhou province, so we recruited 9 with forklift driving experience and sent them to Chengdu to learn the skill. Now they are fully licensed," said Jiang Wanqian, assistant general manager of Suning Commerce Group Co Ltd, in the Guiayng Regional Management Center.
1500 goods per day on average (more than 2000 per day during peak seasons) are delivered to almost every corner of Guizhou province (with a transport route to Kaili and Tongren soon be opened) from the 12.2-hectare Suning logistics storage center, which is set in Guanshanhu industrial park.
Suning has delivered 60,000 large consignments and 30,000 smaller ones over the past 2 months since the launch of the center.
It has equipped platforms outside the warehouse for the allocation of cargoes. On the floors of the platforms, there are dividing lines to separate different areas, guaranteeing logistical efficiency.
"Customers now require more than they did before, and they are smarter. We must guarantee that customers receive their ordered goods on time and without breakage." Jiang said their advanced storage and logistics system will prevent cargo breakages and promote efficiency.
"Logistics is an international trend. Losing in the campaign of logistics means losing in the international market," said Jiang
