On the sidelines of the forum, the plate unveiling ceremony of the Pingtan Institute of Technology was held.

Jointly built by Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University and the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone administrative committee, the institute is poised to become a powerhouse for the region's S&T innovation, bolstering its future economic development.

Tailored to be a training base for high-level talents, the institute will offer tech support for the development of characteristic industries, such as marine biotech and island modern agriculture in both Pingtan and Taiwan, according to Lan Siren, president of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.
