Mr. Zhao joined CICC in 1999 as an investment banker. Since then, he has done tremendous work helping large-sized Chinese SOEs in trans- forming to market based business entities through capital market. He has also been actively involved in cross-borders investments. He has advised many world-class corporations including China Unicom, Lenovo, Alcatel, Emersion, Huawei, China Life, TCL, PetroChina, China National Social Security Fund, New China Life Insurance, Capitaland and PCCW in both domestic and international equity/debt capital market transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Zhao also pioneered the first asset-backed securitization and first none performing loan ABS product in China.
Mr. Zhao became head of CICC (HK) Private Equity Investment in June 2015, with primary focus on cross-border investment. Mr. Zhao worked with Lazard in Asia as Vice President from 1995 to 1999. Mr. Zhao holds Ph.D in Economics from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and B.S in Management Science from University of Science and Technology of China
