Suspension of adoption

Suspension of adoption refers to the suspension of the procedure of examination and approval of the document of adoption application in light of the request of the adoption family and the documents will be kept in the China Center of Children’s Welfare and Adoption. The requirement of the China Center of Children’s Welfare and Adoption is that: the documents can be suspended for 6 months, and upon the expiration of the documents, if the adoption organization fails to provide express opinions, the documents of adoption application shall be returned to the adoption organization.

Handling of the suspension of adoption requires the adoption organization to submit to the office of the Center the letter applying for the handling of suspension of adoption (the original copy and Chinese copy), and the letter should identify: (1) title: Letter on Application for the handling of the suspension of adoption procedure; (2) name of the organization submitting the documents of adoption application; (3) name of the adoption family (it is required to be consistent with the name on the visa); (4) date of registering the document of the application of the adoption family in the Center; (5) reasons for the adoption family to suspend adoption; (6) opinions of the adoption organization; (7) signature of person responsible for the adoption organization of the Chinese project; and (8) application letter from the adoption family to the adoption organization.
