Liang Dongmei, a member of the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, has urged the Jilin government to take a scientific approach when it comes to developing and upgrading the province's cities.

City construction is one of the vital engines for modernization, said Liang, who has devoted more than 20 years to environmental protection and engaged with the ecological environment protection strategy of Jilin in the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20).

In addition, she provided her observations on the current water shortages in Jilin. After conducting research and investigations, she concluded that the water quality would improve once ecological infrastructure is in place.
