The 2020 Changchun international drone industry expo is set to be held on Oct 16-18 in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, according to local officials announced at a news conference.

They told journalists on Sept 21 the expo will be a comprehensive showcase for unmanned aerial vehicles in China.

The expo will have integrated industry forums, exhibitions, competitions, drone science popularization and experience activities, as well as performances and sales.

Six main activities have been arranged: a drone exhibition, the 2nd China (Changchun) general aviation development conference and summit forum on drone industry development, a drone flying show, a drone-related science popularization and experience event, an Air Force drone exhibition game and an unmanned drone skills competition.

The drone exhibition occupies an indoor exhibition hall covering 11,000 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of 5,000 sq m. The top 30 domestic and international drone research and development companies and manufacturers will be invited to attend.

For the conference and summit forum, academicians, officials from national ministries and commissions and representatives from national-level industry associations, leading colleges and universities, as well as top companies, will be invited to participate.

Expo organizers will cooperate with topflight unmanned drone performance companies in China, for 1,000 UAVs to perform an air show on the nights of Oct 15 and Oct 16.

The drone science popularization and experience activity will include various experience activities for visitors to get up close and personal with drones.

In addition, about 50 teams from colleges and universities will participate in an unmanned drone application and skill competition.
