Gucci Names Bonnin as CEO of Sergio Rossi(FWD)Updated: 2007-05-30 15:05 Paris - Gucci Group has appointed Didier Bonnin as the new CEO of Sergio Rossi, succeeding Isabelle Guichot, who was made CEO of Balenciaga two weeks ago. Bonnin, 40, joins Sergio Rossi from Bottega Veneta where he was Industrial Director from February 2003. Bottega Veneta, Sergio Rossi and Balenciaga are all controlled by the giant French-owned luxury corporation Gucci Group. Prior to joining Bottega Veneta, Bonnin was CEO at Celine Production in Florence, joining that Paris-based label after holding different senior positions with Louis Vuitton. Boninn's business career began at Arthur Andersen, the American accounting firm later convicted of obstruction of justice for shredding documents related to its audit of Enron, the defunct Texas energy corporation. The new Sergio Rossi CEO begins his role on June 18. "Didier is an experienced luxury goods professional and I am delighted that he is to lead the team at Sergio Rossi. He is a strong example of the breadth and depth of talent that we have within Gucci Group," said Gucci Group CEO Robert Polet in a release. Gucci Group is the world's third largest luxury conglomerate, controlling such brands as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Bédat & Co., Boucheron, Roger & Gallet, Stella McCartney and YSL Beauté. Added Bonnin: "This is an exciting prospect and I am grateful to Robert Polet for giving me the opportunity to lead a respected brand such as Sergio Rossi. I very much look forward to working with the existing talented and skilled team to strengthen the brand and drive future success for Sergio Rossi." Bonnin, a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Rheims with a
degree in International Finance, is fluent in Italian, English and
