Large Medium SmallA policeman in Qinghai province was suspended from duty for 30 days for wrongful arrest, Beijing Times reported on Wednesday.
The policeman, in the province's Xining, detained a 26-year-old woman from Hunan province on Nov 24. But after he took her back to Qinghai, he discovered he had detained the wrong person, the report said.
The detained woman's ID information had been used by the suspect.
The policemen apologized to the woman and her family.
