BEIJING - The Communist Party of China will strengthen its evaluation on the ethics of cadres, to "maintain the Party's advanced nature, build a high-quality cadre team, and to boost public credibility of its cadre-selecting processes," according to an official circular.

The Organizational Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee issued a circular recently, ordering Party committees at all levels to beef up "ethics evaluation."

The ethics evaluation, including evaluation on cadres' social morality, professional ethics, personal integrity and domestic virtues, will focus on cadres' loyalty to the Party, dedication to the spirit of the people, self-discipline and immunity to corruption, according to the circular.

The circular said Party leadership will give absolutely no chances to those who are corrupt, disconnected with the proletariat, enthusiastic only about face-lifting projects and keen on political turf wars, or to those lacking principles and integrity.

The circular said "the cadres' performance in critical moments and major events" will be an important indicator in assessing cadres' ethics, without specifying ways to implement evaluations.

The evaluation results will be factored into the promotion of cadres, according to the circular.
