Migrant girl quits job after stopping pickpocket

A young migrant worker quit her job out of fear that a pickpocket would retaliate against her for stopping a crime in Hohhot, the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Song, a country girl, stopped the pickpocket from targeting a customer that went inside a shop where she worked.

She pushed away the customer but was hit by the pickpocket on the shoulder and got a serious bruise.

Later, other shop assistants warned her that such action could result in serious retaliation from thieves who might bring others to attack her.

After a week on the job, the frightened girl got a ticket back home on Wednesday.
