How RFA played a role in the Lhasa riots

The March 14 Lhasa riots was an important part of the so-called "Tibetan People's Uprising Movement" directed by the Dalai Clique, a group of Tibetan separatists. The purpose of the movement is to disrupt public order and exert pressure on the Chinese government on the occasion of the Olympic Games to realize its ultimate aim of splitting China.

Washington-based Radio Free Asia has become a mouthpiece for the Dalai clique. RFA is a propaganda tool for the "movement" -- spreading its specific plans, stirring up Tibetans, by broadcasting in Tibetan and through the Internet.

RFA broadcasted 16 stories that called on Tibetans to boycott the Olympics, asking exiled Tibetans to march back to their homeland, or prepare for the "uprising".

These broadcasts show that RFA has spared no efforts in planning and promoting the "Tibetan People's Uprising Movement".

The RFA was originally founded by the CIA through "Free Asia Council" in 1950, and then was managed by the International Broadcasting Bureau of America in 1971. In 1996, it was restructured and started to broadcast in the Tibetan language. Funded by the US Congress annually, RFA is under the Broadcasting Board of Governors. Once a product of the "Cold War", RFA still engages in various activities against China under the influence of the "Cold War" ideology, in order to separate China.

The following are broadcasts RFA aired in 2008:
