BEIJING - China decided to stop an investigation on the anti-dumping case of grain-oriented flat-rolled electrical steel (GOES) imported from Russia starting from Thursday, the Ministry of Commerce said Thursday.
The ministry said the anti-dumping duties imposed on the GOES imported from two Russian companies, OJSC Novolipetsk Steel and VIZ-Stal Ltd, will also be removed as of Thursday.
The decision was made as two Chinese iron and steel producers, Wuhan Iron & Steel Group Corp and Baosteel Group Corp Ltd, on June 4 proposed to revoke their applications on a midterm review.
In response to their previous applications, the ministry started the midterm review on June 27, 2011.
China has imposed anti-dumping duties of 6.3 percent to 25 percent on Russian GOES since April 11, 2010.
The GOES is mainly used in the manufacturing of transformers, reactors and generators.
