Regulator to map out pay guide for insurance executives

The China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) will formulate a directive for compensation to insurance companies' board chairmen and senior managers, according to CIRC assistant chairman Yuan Li.

The directive is aimed to further improve corporate governance of insurance companies, Yuan said at a recent joint conference of insurers' board secretaries.

To achieve the goal, this year the CIRC will establish and improve regular dialogues with board secretaries and the contents will serve as the basis to assess corporate governance of the respective companies.

It will also put the corporate governance reporting system and governance appraisal system in place ......
