On the outside, the GLK 200 maintains the distinctive GLK visual style, with smooth lines that define a tough exterior. It also boasts attractive and dynamic chrome elements on the roof rack, front and rear bumpers and side trims.

Mercedes-Benz said it designed the versatile GLK 200 to meet Chinese demand for a truly fuel-efficient, urban SUV.

The Chengdu line-up also included the smart night purple edition - the third China-exclusive smart to launch this year, with a price tag of 129,888 yuan.

Based on the popular 52kw coupe, the smart night purple edition is decked out in crystal white with a dash of color added by the purple tridion safety cell.

Four 15-inch, 9-spoke white alloy and BRABUS titanium wheels add style and charm and complete the package.

The car's interior is decked out in black leather optic and the ALPINE navigation system and panoramic sunroof come as standard.

The S-Class S 600 L and the S 320 L Luxury were also out to impress at Chengdu auto show and gave fans of premium luxury something to talk about.

The S 320 L Luxury, which made its debut earlier this year, comes equipped with a new 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo engine, with a maximum power output of 200 kW and a peak torque of 400 Nm.

The car boasts a range of cutting-edge technologies, such as the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive, the world's first active perfuming system and seven ambient lighting options. Along with the S 600 L, the S 320 L Luxury completes the automaker's flagship model line.

The Mercedes-Benz lineup was rounded up with a number of other exciting models including the new E-Class, which impressed with its upgraded powertrain, enhanced specifications and new 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

Available with both 4-cylinder and V6 BlueDIRECT turbo engine options, the car continues its legacy as one of the world's most prestigious executive limousines.

For drivers more concerned with the racetrack than city streets, Mercedes-AMG arrived in Chengdu with five models ready to set the road ablaze.

Foremost among them was the All New S 65 L AMG, which comes with a V12 biturbo engine, as well as the A 45 AMG 4MATIC and CLA 45 AMG 4MATIC, which are equipped with the world's most powerful 2.0-liter production 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. Both models also feature the performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC as standard, and AMG SPEED-SHIFT DCT 7.

With 13 new or facelift models due to be introduced to China in total in 2014, the German automaker continues its dedication efforts in bringing Chinese customers the best products, services and experiences.
