Yankees fine A-Rod $150,000

The New York Yankees fined third baseman Alex Rodriguez more than $150,000 for missing a meeting with Major League Baseball officials, ESPN reported on Saturday. Rodriguez was assessed the fine for missing a July 12 meeting to discuss his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal and for seeking a second medical opinion on an injury without notifying the team first. According to ESPN, Rodriguez was fined one day's pay, which equates to just more than $150,000.
