Li-Ning suspends Powell contract

Chinese sportswear company Li-Ning has suspended its deal of Asafa Powell following the Jamaican's positive doping test. The company on Wednesday said it had suspended its deal with Powell pending the outcome of an investigation. The announcement comes days after revelations that Powell and fellow Jamaican sprinter Sherone Simpson tested positive for the stimulant oxilofrone at their national championships last month. Li-Ning began its sponsorship of the former world 100m world record holder in August 2010.
