The money raised in lottery funds to build 100,000 nursing homes for rural senior citizens in the next three years, the Ministry of Civil Affairs announced on Thursday. China has nearly 50 million rural senior citizens who need care, Vice-Minister Dou Yupei said. As of last year, 33,000 institutions offered services to these senior citizens.
