Whereas the original building had eight floors, over 200 guest rooms and a total area of 11,000 square meters, the restored version - smaller at just 96 rooms - is still big enough to rapidly grow its own niche in the city. The hotel welcomes customers back to Shanghai's golden era with a special deluxe room rate of 1,900 yuan per night until the end of August.
