Foreign insurance companies encouraged to establish business in China's west, northeast region

Wu Dingfu, chairman of China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC), said that China encourages foreign insurance companies to establish business in China's vast west region and old industrial belt in northeast China.
Wu made the remark at a press conference held by the Information Office of the State Council here Friday.
He said China would honestly fulfill its promises made when acquired World Trade Organization membership in 2001 and graduallyloosen the geographic restrictions for foreign insurance business.
