China Daily sought the views of readers through a poll on its website and through its mobile phone app on issues they consider most important on February 6. By 12 pm March 2, more than 2,200 readers had responded to the survey, with 60 percent taking part in the study from outside China.

Legislation Law amendment
This year's two sessions will see lawmakers discuss a draft amendment to the country's Legislation Law. If passed, the law will allow local legislative bodies to make laws, as opposed to only regulations implementing laws. The change would enlarge legislative powers at the local level.
